pass with flying colors

Hi! Hope you’re having a great weekend! I just got news that my student has just taken a practice English test and was able to pass with flying colors! I was so happy for the news!

When we use the phrase: ‘pass with flying colors’ it means, to pass something very successfully!

Example:

A: How did you do on your driving test?

B: I’m not sure yet, I didn’t get the results.

A: I’m sure you will pass with flying colors!

B: I hope so.

Homework:

Think about how you can use these phrases in a conversation with a friend:

  • I hope you pass with flying colors!
  • I’m sure you’ll pass with flying colors!
  • Did you pass with flying colors on your exam?

Note: If you join the Queen’s English School we will help you to pass your English tests with flying colors! :)
