Today, we are going to discover the meaning of a new phrase:
The Apple of Ones Eye
This means someone who is much loved and protected
As the shape of an apple is like that of the pupil, in your eye, and the eye is a precious thing, so is the person described as the apple of ones eye.
Someone that means so much to you, like your mother, father, son, daughter, wife, or husband, can all be considered as the apple of your eye.
Example:
- I’m so proud of my beautiful children, they are the apple of my eye
