You’re out of date
Today, we are going to learn the meaning of the following phrase:
You’re out of date can mean that you are wearing an old fashion item, or the information you are giving is no longer valid.
Example 1:
- What are you wearing? You’re out of date. Buy something new!
Example 2:
- Someone said to me that Tony Blair was still prime minister of the UK. I told them “you’re out of date“.
Homework:
- Go through your wardrobe and throw out any clothes that people might tell you “you’re out of date“, if you wear them. (But obviously don’t get rid of anything that you might love to wear.)
